Since 1990, the Metropolitan Dream Center has served the disadvantaged by providing assistance in the areas of finances, clothing, medical care, and food. Its goal is to educate its target audience out of persistent social ailments, while meeting the spiritual and physical needs of its constituency. Metropolitan Dream Center has served nearly 34,000 clients, distributed approximately 150,000 pounds of food, and helped dozens of individuals accept or rededicate their lives to Christ. Our founder, Margaret James says, "We welcome the disadvantaged and impoverished in our local community".
Our Needs
Metropolitan Dream Center depend solely upon donors who have a heart to help those who are less fortunate. As a nonprofit, our most pressing need is for finances to pay the everyday operational expenses and the rent for the facility used to meet these needs.
Another pressing need is for personal and physical items from which a homeless person is deprived. Things as proper clothing, hygiene, and food items. These items not only help the person physically, but helps to open other doors of opportunity to witness and pray for them; in many cases, leading them to Christ.
We also need non-perishable food items to distribute to those individuals who come to our center for food.
