About Chamberlain Ballet

Chamberlain Ballet is a pre-professional ballet company founded in 1984. Located in  Plano, Texas, our not-for-profit organization is committed to enriching the North Texas  community with dance performances, enlightening with arts education, and encouraging  through our outreach programs.

Through the support of our generous donors and sponsors, Chamberlain Ballet is able  to stage full-scale theatrical productions for the public, provide world-class instruction  and opportunities to our dancers, and share the beautiful art of dance with the  underprivileged and underserved members of our community.

Whether instilling a work ethic of will and determination in our students or sparking an  artistic light in a fellow community member, Chamberlain Ballet is proud to build  Classical Foundations for Life®.

Performances

Chamberlain Ballet’s 2023-24 season will begin on November 20 with The Nutcracker  Suites presented by Texas Health Resources in Dallas with the Irving Symphony  Orchestra, Hector Guzman conducting.

Next we will present our annual production of The Nutcracker, featuring internationally  renowned guest artists, over Thanksgiving weekend at the Charles W. Eisemann Center  in Richardson, followed by a special appearance at NorthPark Center in Dallas.

Our spring production will include original performances created especially for  Chamberlain Ballet by our professional artists-in-residence. New York City Principal  Tyler Angle will be staging his version of Paquita. Francisco Graciano, a Paul Taylor  alumnus, will create a contemporary ballet for our dancers. Our youngest dance maker,  Sebastian Garcia, will challenge our dancers with a hip-hop ballet.

Training

With your support, we are able to offer advanced training for pre-professional students  including intensive workshops, master classes, and artists-in-residence who work  directly with dancers to create original works that will be showcased in our spring  production mentioned above.

Outreach

Chamberlain Ballet seeks to share the art of dance with all members of our North Texas  community through education, scholarships and community performances.

Education

Our education outreach includes programs that focus on providing dance education to  the underserved and special needs members of our community, free of charge.

Our Releve' After School Dance program for at-risk children ages 6-13 partners with the  Salvation Army and Sigler Elementary to provide free dance education to those who  would otherwise not have access. Since it started in 1996, the program has reached  over 2,500 students.

Our Shining Stars dance program provides youths and adults with special needs the  opportunity for creativity, self-expression, and movement through the art of dance.  Since its inception in 2005, our Shining Stars program has reached over 340 students.

Each spring we celebrate dancers from our Relevé and Shining Stars outreach  programs at our Community Matters showcase at First Baptist Church of Plano.

Scholarships

Chamberlain Ballet provides scholarships for students to study dance, both locally and  at some of the world’s top ballet and dance programs. Thanks to our donor and sponsor  support, some students have become the first in their families to attend university and/or  work professionally in the arts. Chamberlain Ballet is proud to help bring forth continuing  generations of artists in our community and around the world.
