💙 ABOUT US

Friends of Dallas Animal Services is the official non-profit fundraising partner for Dallas Animal Services (DAS). As one of the largest city-run shelters in the country, DAS cares for tens of thousands of pets every year. And it’s the only shelter in Dallas that welcomes all pets in need—turning no pets away. 🐶 🐱

But city funding can only go so far—that’s why Friends of DAS helps bridge the gap between what DAS has, and what DAS needs to save more lives. It takes a lot of resources and helping hands to make sure every shelter pet gets the care they deserve. Since 2019, people like you have helped us fulfill 100% of requests for financial assistance from DAS! 🙌

💙 HOW YOU CAN HELP

By supporting Friends of DAS on North Texas Giving Day, you’ll help provide things like foster care support, medical equipment, and on-site shelter needs at DAS. Join the thousands of donors (and animal lovers) who advocate for shelter pets in Dallas!

💙 WHAT OUR DONORS SAY ABOUT FRIENDS OF DAS

“I’m happy to be a monthly donor to Friends of DAS because of the group’s commitment to helping DAS with the 90%+ live release rate goal,” says Ray, current donor.

“Friends of DAS turns words into action with funding to help DAS and the many unwanted, lost, and abandoned pets that pass through its doors. My first hand experience with my lost, injured cat who ended up at DAS and received excellent care, furthers my personal commitment to help DAS be the best that it can be!”

💙 WHAT THE DAS LEADERSHIP TEAM SAYS ABOUT FRIENDS OF DAS

“It’s hard work being the safety net for every pet in Dallas—we welcome animals into our shelter that have nowhere else to go. And when it comes to animal welfare, we’re not willing to cut corners. Every pet deserves the best quality of life, starting inside the shelter, to foster care, and eventually to the adoptive home.

When budgets are tight or when emergencies arise, Friends of DAS helps bridge the gap between what we have and what we need. We are so thankful for the strong community of Friends of DAS supporters.”
