Homelessness is more than just About Us

At Union Gospel Mission (UGM) Dallas, we believe in the power of hope, transformation, and community. For over 75 years, we have been a source of hope for those experiencing homelessness in North Texas, providing not just shelter, but a pathway to a better life. Our mission is to restore dignity, offer hope, and empower men, women, and children to rebuild their lives, guided by the love of Christ.

Every person who comes through our doors has a story—a story of struggle, pain, and loss. But with your support, these stories can turn into tales of triumph, resilience, and new beginnings. We offer a comprehensive range of services, from emergency shelter and hot meals to counseling, job training, and spiritual guidance. Our programs are designed not just to meet immediate needs, but to help individuals break the cycle of homelessness and achieve long-term stability.

Why Donate to UGM Dallas?

A lack of shelter—the men, women, and children we serve are our neighbors, people who have fallen on hard times and are struggling to find their way. Your donation is more than just a gift; it’s a lifeline that can bring hope, healing, and a chance for a fresh start.

Your support allows us to provide:

Safe Shelter:  A place where individuals can feel secure, rest, and start their journey to recovery.

Nourishing Meals: For many, a meal at UGM Dallas may be their first in days. We provide warm, nutritious food that nourishes both body and soul.

Life-Changing Programs: From addiction recovery and mental health services to job training and educational opportunities, our programs address the root causes of homelessness and pave the way for lasting change.

Spiritual Care: We believe in the healing power of faith. Our chaplains and volunteers offer spiritual guidance and support, helping individuals reconnect with their sense of purpose and self-worth.

The Impact of Your Gift

When you donate to UGM Dallas, you’re not just giving money—you’re giving someone the chance to reclaim their life. Your generosity directly impacts those in need, providing them with the tools and support they need to overcome their circumstances and build a brighter future.

This North Texas Giving Day, we invite you to join us in making a difference. Together, we can transform lives, restore hope, and end homelessness one person at a time. Your compassion and support are the driving force behind the work we do—thank you for being a part of this mission.

Our Needs

We are asking you to help us meet our 'God-Sized' Goals:

  1. Step-Up Beds : Our innovative Step-Up bed installations will help maximize the space of our men's shelter. Traditional bunk beds are unhelpful in most shelters when servicing the disabled or elderly.

  2. Commercial Refrigerator : Our men's shelter can house up to 450 men. During emergency situations and inclement weather, we have greatly desired larger refrigerator space.

  3. Misters/Warmers : We want to provide a safe place for people to stay as they consider next steps. As we seek funding to improve our HVAC, portable misters and warmers will meet a great immediate need.

  4. Power Generators : This year, our shelter for women and children experience a black out that lasted for a significant amount of time. We need your help keeping the lights, heat, kitchen running in emergencies where the power will go out.

  5. Search and Rescue Vehicle for Inclement Weather : The ice storms have now became a staple of Texas winters. Our search and rescue team is in need of vehicles that will be beneficial in picking up the unhoused to both take the burden off of law enforcement and, also, not becoming stranded.

Equity Statement

Union Gospel Mission Dallas, according to God's Holy Word, believes that every Christian is required by God to "do biblical justice". In Micah 6:8, the scripture says, "Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God" (Christian Standard Bible). We seek to live out God's justice and faithfulness daily in a humble manner. We aspire to display agape love to everyone we encounter.
