The Love Pit Rescue

For more than 11 years, The Love Pit has fought for bully breeds - the dogs who are so often misunderstood, overlooked and left behind. But rescue has taught us something important: Saving a dog doesn't always mean pulling them from a shelter.

Sometimes it means helping a family keep the dog they already love. Sometimes it means giving someone a safe option when they can no longer care for their dog. Sometimes it's saying yes to thousands of dollars in medical care. And sometimes it's simply making sure a dog has a safe place to land while they wait for their forever home.

That's why this North Texas Giving Day, we're raising money for the programs that allow us to help dogs before, during and after crisis.

🏡 iSTAYHOME

Because sometimes people just need a little help to stay together.

A temporary hardship shouldn't have to mean permanently losing your dog. iSTAYHOME helps families facing short-term crises with resources and temporary foster support so their dogs can stay out of the shelter and ultimately return home where they belong.

🐾 iREHOME

Because not every dog who needs a new home needs to enter a shelter.

When keeping a dog truly isn't possible, iREHOME helps owners responsibly find a new family while their dog remains safely at home. That means less stress for the dog and one more kennel left open for an animal who has nowhere else to go.

❤️ THRIVE

Because the cost of saving a life shouldn't determine whether it's worth saving.

Thrive is there for the dogs who need more - emergency care, major surgeries, specialty treatment, diagnostics and rehabilitation. These are often some of our most expensive cases, but they're also dogs who deserve the chance to heal and experience the life waiting for them on the other side.

🏠 HQ

Because our dogs deserve more than a boarding facility while they wait.

TLP HQ keeps dogs who don't currently have foster homes under our own roof, where they receive daily care, enrichment, training and love from people who know them. It's also our home base where volunteers come together, adopters meet their future family members, our community gathers and so much of the behind-the-scenes work of rescue happens every single day.

These programs are built around one belief: They belong.

In homes.
With families.
Safe and cared for.
Given the time they need.
And seen for who they are - not the stereotypes attached to them.
