Founded in 1987, Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange (GRACE) began as a small collaboration between a few churches and civic leaders who joined together to create a centralized location that would be able to offer aid to those in need of it.
Since then, GRACE has grown and adapted into a well-established and independent relief agency providing our community with a wide range of staff-supported programs designed to provide a safety net while individuals and families work to regain their financial footing. Each of these programs is categorized into Hunger Services, Housing Services, Health Services, Senior Services, Emergency Services, and Children's Services which help the GRACE Care Worker better assess the needs of the household and identify necessary resources.
GRACE Programs include:
The GRACE Food Pantry - our self-select style allows families to shop for perishable and nonperishable food including fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy products, and bread.
The GRACE Community Garden - provides fresh produce to clients as part of the food pantry program and cooking classes for diabetic/pre-diabetic Clinic patients.
GRACE Mentorship Housing - offers individuals and families the opportunity to develop life skills and learn how to obtain self-sufficiency through a two-year intensive program that focuses on education, employment, and budgeting.
GRACE Clothing Room - provides clothing for children and adults. Adults often need clothes for job interviews and children receive seasonal packets throughout the year, including coats and shoes for the winter months.
GRACE Children's Programs - offers children's programs including Feed Our Kids, a summer lunch program, Back-To-School, and the Christmas Cottage
GRACE Friends & Family - provides monthly food and commodities to the elderly and disabled in the community and provides volunteer companionship to combat isolation.
GRACE Community Clinic - provides free medical care to uninsured and under-insured clients
As a steward of God's blessings and resources in the community, GRACE demonstrates compassion for those less fortunate by providing assistance to individuals and families in crisis and guidance toward self-sufficiency.
The two highest requested services that GRACE offers fall into Hunger and Housing Services. GRACE is asking for the support of our community to help keep our Food Pantry shelves stocked and ready and for monetary support to keep families in crisis securely housed.
