NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY
The Bedford Public Library Foundation raises funds for long-term library projects such as equipment, furniture, fixtures, and technology. The Board of Directors is composed of volunteers who are dedicated to supporting a state-of-the-art library through technology innovations, cutting-edge services, enhancements of the physical space, and dreaming with our community.
Since 2010 the Bedford Public Library Foundation has donated over $300,000 to the Library which is open to all Texas residents with 53% of users residing outside of the Bedford community.
In 2024 the Bedford Public Library Foundation project goal was to raise $10,000 to purchase audiobooks to support literacy in the Children’s Library. These books help children and youth who have reading or attention deficiencies to strengthen their reading skills and comprehension.

The Bedford Public Library Foundation seeks to promote a secure financial future by raising funds for an endowment. Our goal is to enrich, not replace, traditional tax-based support for the library through gifts, grants and bequests from individuals and organizations to support library programs and projects not normally met by public funding.
The Bedford Public Library Foundation is deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. As a supporting organization and in partnership with the Bedford Public Library, we help to fulfill the mission of the Public Library through private philanthropy. The Library Foundation's board of directors' approaches race, access, equity, diversity and inclusion with intentionality-from the voices and perspectives represented on our governing board to ensuring that the historically marginalized are served thoughtfully through the programs and initiatives for which we provide funding. The latter is greatly enhanced by how our Library positions its programs and service priorities as well as by donors who are aligned with the importance of what public libraries inherently promote.
