For over 40 years, the Dallas Arts District Foundation serves the largest contiguous arts district in the nation! The mixed-use neighborhood is comprised of cultural, corporate, educational, residential, recreational, and religious institutions. A 501c3 organization, the Dallas Arts District is supported in part by the generosity of members, donors, corporate sponsors, the residents of Dallas through the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District, and Texas Commission on the Arts. The neighborhood attracts more than 2.8 million visitors annually of which 500,000 are students, and was awarded the highest possible rating by the prestigious Michelin Green Guide, one of only five designations in Dallas. Dallas Arts District ranked 1st in USA Today's 10Best Arts Districts in the nation in 2024 and 3rd in the nation in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

In addition to serving as the primary steward and representative for the Dallas Arts District, the Foundation supports local arts organizations annually through its grants program that provides assistance to produce performances or exhibits while introducing new, diverse audiences to the neighborhood. The Arts District supports safety, connectivity, and accessibility through the Dallas Arts District CONNECT Master Plan, an infrastructure streetscape plan that would replace the current Sasaki Plan. The Arts + Culture industry in the District has more than tripled its economic impact since 2010, according to the recent Economic Prosperity Study conducted by Americans for the Arts and an overall economic impact of more than $340 million from 15 cultural institutions in Dallas Arts District, creating $62 million in revenue that goes directly to local,  state, and federal governments. One of the most impactful programs of the Dallas Arts District is its grants program, reinvesting in the performing and visual arts in Dallas; these grants showcase the vibrant, dynamic and innovative arts scene that Dallas has to offer, bringing new programs and diverse audiences to the Dallas Arts District.

Dallas Arts District strives to create free, accessible events for the community through its Signature Block Party Series and other partnerships that provide street activation featuring exceptional local, national, and international artists. Donations through North Texas Giving Day help us continue to provide local jobs while featuring incredible artists and vendors.  These donations also help us continue to provide arts experiences for free, making them accessible to visitors and locals alike.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Dallas Arts District is a coalition of artistic, educational, and commercial neighbors that work together to elevate the city’s creative and economic life through the support of a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable Arts District through advocacy, programs and events, and sustainable design.

Vision: The Dallas Arts District is a world-renowned urban destination that showcases how artists, arts and culture organizations, and the business community collaborate to create an inviting experience for locals and tourists alike.

Needs

Dallas Arts District serves as the primary steward for the largest urban arts district in the nation. Global impacts have caused swift changes in the way we operate, how we serve, and our ability to help our artists and neighbors. In 2022 we returned to the free, accessible block parties supporting over 100 artists each year attracting approximately 40,000 visitors. Dallas needs an Arts District that is vital and vibrant, a beacon of hope. Your support helps us provide free arts events for our community so that we can provide jobs for those on stage and behind the scenes. These dynamic events will also contribute to cultural tourism and economic impact for the City of Dallas. In addition, Dallas Arts District is working on infrastructure improvements to promote safety, connectivity, and accessibility. We are stronger together, thank you.

Equity Statement

The Dallas Arts District believes that all people are inherently creative.

We believe that participation in and enjoyment of the arts should be accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability.

We advocate for equitable access to arts funding and programs for artists and arts and culture organizations.

We strive for programs and events that advance a sense of belonging and connection.

We are committed to using a racial and cultural equity lens to inform all decision-making, programs, and policies.
