$150,000 Goal

Almost 70 years ago, Sky Ranch opened its gates for campers to experience a signature program of fun, fellowship, and discipleship with the mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. In 1975, to accommodate demand, Sky Ranch moved from Denton to Van, TX. In 2004, Sky Ranch began operating programs at Cave Springs, Oklahoma, and Ute Trail, Colorado. As our leadership and family camp programs continued to grow, the need for additional capacity was fulfilled by the addition of Horn Creek, in Westcliffe, Colorado, in 2015. Sky Ranch now serves over 66,000 guests every year, striving to provide ministry opportunities for the whole family.

Today, Sky Ranch is a year-round recreational camp ministry with a desire to create experiences for youth and families in an engaging camp environment.  We offer a variety of programs from summer overnight youth and family camps, to school and rodeo programs, retreats, conferences, parent-child weekends, day camp, SkyMoms ministry, and wilderness adventures.   Through our strategic partnerships with West Dallas Community School, The King’s Academy, Interfaith Housing Coalition, Promise Academy, ForeRunner, All Things Made New, Agape Resource and Assistance Center, and BridgeBuilders, we have the privilege of serving at-risk children in the Dallas area.  We help equip these children to know that they do not have to be defined by their circumstances.

Emphasizing character and leadership development, Sky Ranch seeks to grow the next generation of Godly leaders.  For our youth, we use the "Sky Ranch Life Map," a character development program that is age specific and developmentally culturally relevant. Starting with a week of camp each summer, the “Life Map” builds upon itself year after year to help shape campers from who they are at 6 years old to who they can be at 18.  Each year our curriculum answers one of four worldview questions: Who is God, What is our need, What is truth, and Who are you.  Since its implementation, thousands have become Sky Ranch summer staff and we have seen over 13,700 decisions for Christ over the last 14 years. The “Life Map” equips our youth with tools to assist them to overcome adversities in life and become Godly leaders in their communities, schools, and churches.

Mission

Leading youth and families to know and follow Christ - that's our mission and our heartbeat!

Needs

The demand is high for a week of life-changing camp as youth and families are feeling less connected than ever before. Anxiety and depression in our youth are at an all-time high, and there is proven power in the positive impact of what transpires in a child’s life through camp.

Our overnight and family camps are at full capacity, with waitlists in all programs. With a debt-free philosophy, Sky Ranch relies on fundraising for scholarships, large capital improvements, and expansion.

This summer, we were able to give just under one million dollars in scholarships, as the demand continues to grow. The Scholarship Gift Program impacts countless youth and families, including military families, children of incarcerated parents, and those facing circumstances beyond their control. It is our hope to never turn a child or family away from the opportunity to experience summer camp at Sky Ranch.

Capital improvements and renovations are needed across all locations to continue aligning the facilities to meet the ministry goals. Additionally, Sky Ranch has created an Expansion Plan to acquire two additional properties: a youth camp and a family camp, to meet the growing demand. Our focus for expansion is to front-load staff to train and develop key areas needed to support growth and continue to serve our families with excellence.

We are grateful for your prayerful consideration of donating to Sky Ranch. Please know that every gift, no matter the amount, has a direct, eternal impact on the lives of youth and families.
