Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland

In 2024 Habitat of Greater Garland celebrates 30 years of service to the communities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse Texas. Since inception we have helped 91 families become homeowners! Over the past 6 years we have built 11 new homes and served over 130 additional households with critical repairs. Our recent accomplishments include finishing three 1920s houses that we physically moved to new locations and rebuilt for Veteran's residences. Navy Veterans now own these 3 beautiful completely rebuilt homes. We have also expanded our Critical Repair Program increasing from 5 homes to over 135 homes in the past four years. A large portion of our critical repairs are done for Veterans of the United States Armed Forces through TVC, the Texas Veterans Commission. Our Critical Repair program helps people age in place with more safety and dignity. 
On the horizon: a Veterans Pocket Community of 15 homes and a Community Center where Veterans will receive needed services and support. We impact people and families who earn primarily in the 30-80% range of Area Median Income, providing the joy of home ownership to those who otherwise may never have the opportunity to be homeowners.
