Hendrick Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit that serves local students who have graduated high school, overcoming great adversity in their young lifetime. HSF provides support to attain a college degree, providing annual scholarships renewable up to a baccalaureate degree. Many of our 104 students are first-generation college students and don't have family mentors to whom they can turn to for career advice. For 33 years, HSF has served over 470 students, providing over $2 million in scholarships and equipping students with life skills through coaching, mentoring and workshops designed to promote their future success.

Mission

Hendrick Scholarship Foundation provides Plano ISD graduates who have overcome adversity with scholarships and support services to promote success in life through education.

If you believe that education has the power to transform individuals, families, and communities, please read about this growing organization that has achieved truly remarkable results - one student at a time.

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation's mission provides these students with scholarship funds AND an extraordinary array of support services that account for remarkable outcomes. In fact, the college graduation rate for HSF graduates is more than 5X the average for a similar demographic in Texas (>50% versus 12%)! Those services include a personal coach paired with each student throughout their entire journey, continuous education /training via workshops in a broad range of life/career skills, community referrals, career guidance and more.

Nothing demonstrates our success like the specific stories of our scholars. Among Spring 2023 graduates, one will attend law school, others are nurses, engineers, teachers or in other fields. The new, Fall 2024 class of 32 students, is similarly poised for success with specific career goals, from accounting to palliative care to computer engineering, creative director and more.

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation has served over 470 students and our hope is to serve an additional 100 students annually in the future. With this Fall's class of 32 students, we will be serving 104 students during the 24-25 year. Momentum is strong as we tell the story to families and companies alike, as most everyone agrees that education is almost unparalleled as the transformative power to change lives - from individual to families, to society at large.
