This year we were able to award 2 more, $1,000 College Scholarships, to 2 graduating seniors in Irving ISD.
Through our partnership with the Irving ISD and the Adult Education & Literacy program, we graduated over 98 students last year in the Entrepreneurship program and awarded certificates of completion. We have also added a partnership with Northlake College for Entrepreneurship and Business 101 classes. We have finished 4 Cohorts, with a total of 84 graduates, each earning 3 college credits.
IHCC Education Foundation is in need of funding for youth development classes, which are designed to teach high school and college aged students professional and personal leadership skills. Funding would help the Education Foundation give out more scholarships for both youth and adult students as well as provide resources to students in the community. IHCC Education Foundation has also created an annual college fair day for Irving students in Dallas County.
The Mission of the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is to provide educational materials, scholarships and mentoring to the Hispanic Community. The IHCC Education Foundation is dedicated to charitable, scientific, educational and social purposes, including raising funds for student scholarships, organizing meetings or informational seminars, and providing other resources for youth and adult students.
We need dollars to provide scholarships to students that can't afford to attend college. And, also needed to provide scholarships to young Entrepreneurs wanting to start their own business, by helping them attend the college courses.
Through our IHCC Education Foundation, we are committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We believe that every student deserves equal access to educational opportunities, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances. Our mission to provide scholarships is rooted in the principle of equity, aiming to level the playing field and empower students from underserved communities to achieve their full potential.
We recognize the systemic barriers that exist in education and strive to dismantle them through our scholarship programs. By actively promoting equity, we aim to create a more just and inclusive society where every individual has the chance to thrive academically and professionally. We are dedicated to transparency, accountability, and continuous learning in our efforts to advance equity in education.
Through collaboration with our partners and stakeholders, we are committed to ensuring that our scholarship initiatives prioritize fairness, accessibility, and representation. We pledge to listen to and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, and to adapt our strategies based on their needs and experiences.
Ultimately, our goal is not only to award scholarships but also to advocate for systemic changes that promote equity in education. By investing in students who have historically been underrepresented, we aim to create a future where all individuals have an equal opportunity to succeed.
