Incarnation House was founded in 2012 when the Church of the Incarnation, in partnership with Dallas Independent School District, launched a Friday drop-in program at North Dallas High School for housing- and food-insecure students. It quickly became evident that a more comprehensive approach was necessary to connect these students with the resources needed to break the cycle of poverty. To meet this need, Incarnation House became its own 501(c)(3) organization.

Today, Incarnation House continues to serve teens by using dedicated space at North Dallas High School to provide critical programs and services.

Dallas County has the highest poverty rate in Texas, with 29% of its youth living below the poverty line. For many families, living situations range from motels and shelters to overcrowded apartments, Section 8 housing, and HUD housing. Housing insecurity is a constant source of stress, with many families just one paycheck, illness, or accident away from homelessness. Tragically, many of these families fall through the cracks due to a lack of proper identification. According to Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, homeless families are the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population, accounting for nearly 40% of the total homeless community.

Incarnation House provides a safe and supportive environment for teenagers at partner schools like North Dallas High School. Here, students participate in programming offered during and after school, build meaningful relationships with caring adults and peers, and access vital services that would otherwise be out of reach. Through a collaborative, team-driven approach, staff, volunteers, and over 20 nonprofit community partners deliver a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Case management and counseling
  • Education on healthy relationships and life skills
  • Academic and vocational support
  • Enrichment activities and opportunities

By offering these essential services, Incarnation House helps youth overcome the barriers of housing and food insecurity and achieve brighter futures.
