Kids Matter has been working every day to improve the quality of life of children living at or below poverty level since our inception as a non-profit organization in 2006.
Through our work to enhance the lives of these children and their families, we still witness an overwhelming amount of disadvantaged children who are in need of basic necessities like clothing and food, school supplies, and educational programs.
With your support, Kids Matter is able to continue helping the thousands of children receive these basic necessities and continue to empower them through educational programs such as literacy and work-transition programs.

Around The Block (ATB), is our largest program where our leadership teams, volunteers, and donors interact together with the children we serve.
In November 2022, over 1,815 children shopped for new clothing at Kohl's department stores. For a majority of these children, it was the first time they received new clothes versus hand-me-downs.
For every $100 raised, the donation will go toward the purchase of new and warm clothing for a child valued at $225. In addition, they receive a new backpack and book of their choosing. Over 700 volunteers participated in the events. This program addresses the very basic need among low-income children while improving their self-esteem. Events are held in November to enable children to shop for winter clothing.
Our goal is to help 2,000 children this November receive warm winter clothing by raising $500,000.
Kids Matter's mission is to help children in need by providing programs that empower them and enhance their lives. We serve children whose families live at or below poverty level. Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty among children in the communities we serve and give them hope.
To support our vision, we provide programs and services that meet the very basic needs and challenges facing children in poverty: Food, Clothing, and Literacy.
Through our long-standing partnership with KOHLS department stores, 18,725 children have received new clothing valued at over $4,543,750.
Our goal in 2024 is to serve 2,000 children and provide over $500,000 in needed clothing.
