Abiding Fathers

Encouraging, equipping and engaging men in developing their God-ordained leadership role as fathers in order the make disciples for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Just imagine yourself locked up in prison for an extended period of time. Your children are growing up without you. Can you sense the pain, loneliness, anger, hopelessness and more? This story is seen and heard many times every week we enter the eight prisons to share the Abiding Fathers' curriculum. As the weeks progress, the dads start sensing their purpose for the first time and that it is never too late. Even there, they can start preparing for the time they will rejoin their kids, and maybe their wives. We have heard countless stories of how God has begun to restore their hope. One dad recently shared this. When I entered prison 18 years ago, my daughter was just 5 months old. I have not seen or heard from her. The AF Colleague called him aside after class and challenged him to pray with him about his connecting with her. They did. A week or so later he said; my daughter called me and said she forgave me and wanted to see me and get to know me. She came and here is the photo of my beautiful 18 year old daughter. Imagine the boundless joy (and tears) that ensued. AF is equipping dads across Texas. Over 1,500 men have taken the course and graduated since starting in 2014. We have grown from one unit to eight. God is extending our territory. It requires donations since the prisons have no funds to purchase the materials. The investment per inmate is $25. That's an average of $5,000 per prison. There are 100+ Units across the State that could start engaging in the training. Jesus said, I was in prison and you visited Me. When Lord were you in prison? When you did it to the least of these, you did it unto Me. Our command is to be faithful to visit and give hope to these dads and granddads. God will bless the results. We are already seeing it. Send us into the prisons; help us train the Colleagues across Texas who will, in turn, disciple these inmates. Give these dads hope! Help the men 'Be the dad God wants them to be'. Prayerfully consider a gift of $25, $250, $500, $1,000 or $5,000.
