The American Public Philosophy Institute, an independent 501(c)(3) public charity located at the University of Dallas, is an interdisciplinary group of scholars from various universities that works with local professional leaders to promote a natural law public philosophy rooted in the principles of the American Founding, one that pursues freedom and prosperity and is grounded on the moral integrity of the culture and of our social and political institutions.
The APPI plans to sponsor a Summer Seminar for college students on Natural Law and the American Political Tradition.
It is also in the process of organizing a Texas Network for the Study of Public Issues, which each semester will hold a regional seminar for students in participating Texas universities (University of Dallas, Baylor University, Texas A&M, University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, the University of Houston, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Tech). This fall's seminar is on "What is Marriage?"
In November, the APPI will sponsor a Conversation on Immigration, which will bring in national representatives of a range of different opinions on matters relating to immigration for a civil conversation on this controversial topic.
In addition, the APPI sponsors lectures both for students at the University of Dallas and for business and professional leaders in the Dallas area.
