American Red Cross North Texas Region

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Every day, thousands of people provide compassionate care to those in need. We share our mission of preventing and relieving suffering. We help members of the military and their families. We donate blood. We teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises. Your gift enables the Red Cross North Texas to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small, while making homes safer and providing education to the community. Volunteers respond to disaster every six minutes, including home fires that affect one family and tornadoes that affect thousands. The Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet. The Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces dates back to the 1880's and serves members of the military, veterans and their families as they prepare for, cope with and respond to the challenges of military service. Since 9/11, the Red Cross has served more than 1 million military families, including thousands across North Texas. The Red Cross is the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the United States, collecting and processing approximately 40 percent of the blood supply and distributing it to about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Providing life-saving blood and blood products to patients is a key component of the Red Cross mission to help people in times of emergency and disasters.
