Assistance League of Greater Collin County is a non-profit organization with 5 Philanthropic programs. Operation School Bell, our signature program, provides new clothing to elementary school children in need. We also support pediatric cancer patients and grieving parents. Assistance League of Greater Collin County promotes "Caring and Commitment in Action."
Assistance League of Greater Collin County had a 28.7% increase in the number of school children we clothed from 2015 to 2016.The program, OPERATION SCHOOL BELL has enabled our chapter to clothe over 17,463 needy children in 6 Collin County School Districts since 1998.We anticipate clothing at least 1300 children during our coming fiscal year with the cost of $120 to clothe each child. We have seen an increase in the cost of the clothing even with our diligence in obtaining the best pricing possible. We provide each child new clothes including 2 pairs of jeans,2 shirts,1 sweatshirt, 1 jacket,6 underwear and socks, and a hygiene kit. A school counselor told us, "Thomas had a smile on his face bigger than Texas as he was trying on his new clothes. She explained that Thomas attended school every other day because he had to share his clothing with his older brother." Our members work hard to put smiles on the faces of school children.
