Dallas Genealogical Society

The object of this Society shall be: 1) To educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy; 2) To assist and support the genealogy section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas, Texas or to its legal successor; and 3) To collect, preserve, copy, and index information relating to Dallas County and its early history.
We are raising funds to digitize 9000 pages of historical Journals published by our society from 1955 through 1994. These publications contain transcriptions, stories of people and places, and information about cemeteries, historical public records, newspapers, funeral homes, and personal archives, all of which are of interest to historians and family history researchers. Once digitized, the images will be publicly available on the Portal to Texas History. We need $4,000 to complete the digitization project. Any funds we receive above this amount will be donated to The Cathy Nelson Hartman Portal to Texas History Endowment fund to help insure the future viability of this valuable repository.
