Turning women's passion into actionable skills by engaging, empowering and activating millennial women around issues important to them.
Deeds Not Words was founded by Wendy Davis whose filibuster and continued role in fighting for women's gender equality has created an army of strong, engaged, and passionate women from diverse backgrounds. Deeds Not Words leverages this following of more than a million women and continues to grow and engage them as voters and consumers to advance opportunities for all women.
Deeds Not Words has trained nearly 500 students in Texas, including at the Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, Skyline High School and the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy, in human trafficking and sexual assault reform.
Our goal is to expand to more universities and high schools, train 1,000 advocates and take on another issue area. We are providing the next generation of Texas leaders and advocates with the tools to tell their stories, learn the legislative process, advocate in their communities, build coalitions and organize their peers to effectively mobilize for a cause; transforming their ideas into action and words to deeds.
