To preserve, protect, and conserve in perpetuity the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.
At the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge (Fort Worth's hidden gem), stunning vistas of nature surround you, birds happily chirp, insects quietly buzz, and the wind gently blows through the trees. Hikers and walkers can experience these relaxing treasures of nature every day. Yet having modern infrastructure at the trail-head can greatly enhance the adventure -- clear signage, adequate parking and possibly most importantly, modern restrooms. . . . That's where you can help. . . . Like so many of our park lands, improving infrastructure is critically important as visitor numbers continue to rise year-over-year. The Nature Center welcomed almost 100,000 visitors last year and expects steady increases as urban development inches closer. . . . The funds we raise today will help pay for infrastructure improvement projects such as new facilities at trail-heads. . . . Our first area of focus is the Greer Island Trail, a favorite of many. Today at Greer Island, you will find stunning views, a boardwalk across a protected wetland, and historic structures from the Civilian Conservation Corps era. And with your help, you will soon find better parking and public facilities too. . . . Your gift will be matched by our board members and allow us to apply for a National Trails Grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife. Your gift today allows more people to enjoy the wonder of nature.
