The mission of Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter is to support the efforts of the Tri-City Animal Shelter, enhance the lives of animals in the Tri-City area of Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Duncanville, TX and make a difference in our community through education and awareness. Our funds support a pre-adoption spay/neuter program, sterilization for feral cats, emergency veterinary care for sick or injured shelter animals, and educational efforts throughout the community.
Tri-City Animal Shelter needs a staff veterinarian and on-site surgical suite in order to better serve the abandoned and unwanted animals at our local shelter. While the Friends currently make it possible to spay/neuter 100% of animals adopted from Tri-City (over 5,000 to date) and have funded sterilization for over 500 feral cats, the shelter is reliant upon multiple local clinics and currently transports some animals as far Crandall, TX for surgery. Moving both surgical and medical services on-site would not only be more cost-effective, it would also be less stressful for our animals and allow for more expedient care when animals are sick or in pain. When you give on North Texas Giving Day, you will be helping us fund the remainder of our pre-adoption spay/neuter commitment for the year (approximately $4,000/month), so we can focus on bringing a surgical suite and veterinarian to Tri-City Animal Shelter. Your gift will also help us renovate a surgery van that will support our feral cat trap-neuter-return sterilization efforts. Thank you for supporting us and saving lives of dogs and cats at our community shelter!
