Greater Dallas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse

To improve our communities' health, safety and productivity by reducing the incidence and impact of alcohol and drug abuse.
The Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse offers prevention programs for children, youth and adults. Council staff and volunteers work to prevent problems before they occur through our Prevention Resource Center, public awareness campaigns, workshops, and three coalitions we fund and facilitate: the Dallas Area Drug Prevention Partnership, The Alliance on Underage Drinking, and Tobacco-Free North Texas. We intervene when problems ultimately do occur through our information helpline, our Positive Action program for at-risk youth, and community outreach activities. And, we promote recovery for people already affected through our strong relationships with area treatment providers and recovery groups, and through our HIV programs that work with those uniquely affected by both a substance use disorder and an HIV diagnosis. Since 1946, the Council has relied on the generosity of individuals like you to help prevent, intervene and provide recovery resources for individuals, families and communities negatively impacted by alcohol and other drugs. The Council can achieve its goals only with the assistance of generous donations. Thank you in advance for helping us provide community resources that address #1 preventable health problem in America - substance abuse.
