Italian Greyhound Club of America Rescue- Northern Texas Branch

Mission Statement-To find homes for rescued Italian Greyhounds and to educate the public on the care and training required by this breed. Vision Statement-While we may dream of a day when every Italian Greyhound lives out its life in a happy, loving home, we know that goal is unlikely in the foreseeable future. There are times when dogs need extra resources to secure a loving home. We ideally would love to have the capacity to accept every needy Italian Greyhound into our foster program and provide advanced veterinary services with no fear of financial ruin for the long-term funding of the program.
The northern Texas region of IGCA Rescue/IGRF continues to have one of the largest IG intake areas in the US. We have seen an increasing number of puppy mill shutdowns and hoarding type scenarios in our general area. These poor dogs have significant medical needs due to years, and sometimes an entire lifetime, of veterinary care neglect that includes needs for orthopedic and other surgical procedures, extensive periodontal disease, heartworms, and of course basic veterinary care. These intakes have profoundly impacted the funds we have available to incoming IGs, but we are doing all we can to ensure the future of IGCA Rescue/IGRF and are committed to never having to say "NO" to an IG in need due to lack of funds.
