The mission of Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is to provide and support trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children of Rockwall and Kaufman Counties who have been removed from their home and come into the court system primarily as a result of abuse or neglect. The goal of Lone Star CASA is to help assure that the child is placed in a safe and permanent home, free of abuse, with a minimum length of time in court-ordered foster care.
An ongoing need is for funding to underwrite the continued expansion of the program, so as to enable Lone Star CASA to continue to provide a CASA for every child in need. Another need is for citizen volunteers to become a CASA and, serving as a Guardian ad Litem, help to change the course of the lives of these vulnerable children.
