North Texas ITF TaekwonDo

North Texas ITF Taekwon-Do is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established to assist the students of Poteet Martial Arts with financial needs associated with practicing Taekwon-Do. Poteet Martial Arts has had a positive impact on many of the families in our community. Working in partnership with parents to help children achieve a higher level of success at school and instilling the tenets of Taekwon Do: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. North Texas ITF Taekwondo helps these students achieve their goals by providing financial assistance with tuition and competition expenses. Students have opportunities to compete locally and even internationally. Competition at an international level can be very costly. In 2015, 7 nationally qualified (4 National Champions), competitors, and 4 coaches from our small community joined other members of Team USA in Jesolo Italy for the ITF World Championships. Poteet Martial Arts (PMA) brought home 4 of the 13 medals that Team USA received and the only World Champion! North Texas ITF Taekwondo also offers financial assistance for the Special Needs Taekwon-Do class at PMA that provides an opportunity for people with various challenges to learn new skills and self-defense. This class is inclusive but not limited to: developmental challenges, learning disabilities, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social Communication Disorder, ADD, and ADHD. These students also do local demonstrations and compete at local tournaments in addition to advancing in rank at belt promotions. Our organization relies on the generosity of individuals and companies. Your generous donation and continued support is greatly appreciated.
Funds are needed for competitors training for the next World Championships in Dublin Ireland 2017. Expenses that are included, but not limited to: travel to tournaments throughout the US over the next year, entry fees, and required equipment for participation in said tournaments. There is also the need of competitive equipment to properly prepare competitors for this level of competition such as specialty breaking machines, rebreakable boards, shields, mats, and timing equipment. Funds are also needed for the special needs students including: uniforms to train in as they are provided to all students taking classes, bags with low bases, sparring safety gear, rebreakable boards, and various other training supplies as they become needed in classes to allow training to be safe and efficient for all involved.
