The mission of Operation Kindness is to care for homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill environment until adopted into responsible homes and to advocate humane values and behavior.
Operation Kindness is the original and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas. Since 1976, we have saved more than 85,000 cats and dogs. We care for over 300 animals on a day-to-day basis, with another 150 animals in foster homes. Operation Kindness assists more than 5,000 dogs and cats each year. We also go into the community and schools to teach humane education, the importance of spay/neuter, and responsible pet ownership. These are animals that have been abandoned, whose owners can no longer care for them, who have been rescued from cruelty or abuse, or who are friendly strays whom a caring community member has brought to us. Many of the animals that come to our shelter need veterinary attention, physical therapy and rehabilitation, along with immunizations and routine medical treatments. We have a full medical hospital that cares for the sick and injured as well as provides these vaccinations and prevention medications to those in need.
