REAL School Gardens creates learning gardens that grow successful students. We partner with low-income elementary schools to build outdoor classrooms and train teachers to use these outdoor spaces to improve student academic achievement. Our programs increase student engagement in learning, particularly in math and science, promote healthy development, nurture positive social skills, and foster environmental stewardship. We believe a learning garden enhances every child's education, and since 2003, we have expanded to serve more than 100 elementary schools across North Texas, providing over 4,000 educators and 60,000 children access to high-quality outdoor teaching and learning opportunities.
REAL School Gardens uses nature, the original classroom, to train teachers and engage students in hands-on, experiential learning, inspiring their imaginations and sparking their curiosity, so our region's students can learn more, live healthier, and appreciate the natural wonders around them. Your donation supports supplies for our outdoor classrooms: $25 - Bird house, $50 - 12 pairs of garden gloves, $100 - Picnic table, $250 - White board, $500 - Arbor, $1,000 - Rain barrel, and $2,500 - Vegetable beds for one outdoor classroom
