Helping those in crisis, especially suicidal crisis, find hope for the future.
(I) "Suicide and Crisis Center HopeLine" ~ Program Budget is: $195,471. Our Crisis Line answered 22,890 calls in 2015; Crisis intervention services are free-of-charge 24 Hours, 7 Days a Week. Funding is critical for our Paid Crisis Line Staff who answer calls nights and holidays. (214) 828-1000 or 1 (800) 273-8255; Goals: Managing 24,000+ Calls by December 31, 2016; Full implementation of confidential Crisis Text Line Hotline by end of 2016.
(II) "Teens Can Survive" ~ Program Budget is: $163,177. Served 16,471 teens in 2015; Goals: 1) Increasing number of children/teens served with “Teens Can Survive” by 12/31/2016 from 16,000 youth to over 17,000; 2) Increasing our suicide prevention education and screening from 100 North Texas schools to over 130 schools by 12/31/2016; and 3) Increasing the number of parents, school staff, teachers and administrators served with Suicide Awareness Training from 3,500 to over 5,000 by 12/31/2016.
(III) "Survivors of Suicide" ~ Program Budget is: $100,120. Served 1,627 survivors of suicide in 2015; Provided seminars, training and individual and group consultation in crisis intervention to 13,078 professionals employed by police departments, hospitals, & schools throughout North Texas; Goals: Reaching 1,700 survivors and training 15,000 professionals by 12/31/16.
