Taylor's Gift Foundation

Taylor's Gift Foundation was founded in 2010 with a mission to Regift Life, Renew Health, and Restore Families. Increasing official organ donor registries is just the beginning of our purpose. Current areas of focus include: - partnering with our local DFW area OPO partners, LifeGift and Southwest Transplant Alliance to provide Legacy Gifts to alleviate immediate financial burdens facing North Texas area donor families by paying for immediate needs - including rent, food, clothing, and burial expenses - on their behalf - changing the conversation of organ donation to be a positive one about life, encouraging an "Outlive Yourself" spirit that begins with registering to be an organ donor - awarding Taylor's Gift Scholarships to graduating seniors who are making a positive impact Taylor's Gift hosts events, speaking engagements, and helps organize grassroots fundraisers to educate audiences about organ donation and the gift each of us has within to make a lasting difference. Outlive Yourself.
While there are several resources for transplant recipients and those on the waiting list, resources for the Donor family side are not so accessible. Organ donation often occurs through a tragedy or an accident and many families are unprepared for the sudden expenses that face them. This is where Taylor's Gift has stepped in to help. Taylor's Gift works to provide financial assistance to donor families by paying immediate needs such as rent payments, food, clothing and even burial expenses on their behalf. Through this Legacy Gift program (http://taylorsgift.org/legacygifts/) Taylor's Gift has become a source of strength for these special families who have given the gift of life. Currently, we work with 3 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), including our local DFW area OPO partners - LifeGift and Southwest Transplant Alliance. There is more demand for our Legacy Gifts than we have financial supply. All gifts made on North Texas Giving Day will allow us to help more donor families in North Texas.
