The mission of the Texas Ramp Project is to create and sustain local organizations in Texas to build free wheelchair ramps for elderly and disabled people who cannot afford them. The ramps are built by all-volunteer crews, holding costs to a minimum. Clients are accepted without regard to age, gender, religion, race or ethnicity. The ramps are built following ADA guidelines and are safe, strong and durable.
Funding for the Texas Ramp Project purchases lumber and materials to build wheelchair ramps using the donated labor of volunteers. Funds are also used to purchase tools for new build teams and to cover local transport and delivery of lumber to the build site. At least 85% of all funding goes directly to ramp construction.
