“Our mission is to provide compassionate and professional counseling services, tailored to each individual’s unique needs, fostering personal growth, resilience, and ensuring a successful mental health journey”

Needs

The "Ink Spot" program aims to address the lack of access to art therapy services faced by young people in our areas who have endured trauma or crisis. We passionately believe that art therapy provides a powerful tool for healing, personal growth, and empowerment. Through our program, we aim to offer a safe space under the supervisor of a counselor or therapist for children to engage in art activities and receive guidance from qualified art therapists, ultimately fostering emotional well-being, resilience, and healthy social interactions.

We are reaching out to you today to request $133,000 for your support as a donor for the "Ink Spot" program. By partnering with us, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of youth in our community. Your generous donation will ensure that we can provide vital resources and support for our mobile art therapy sessions.

Equity Statement

EQUITY AND CULTURAL PLAN PRIORITIES & STRATEGIES:

Equity is a priority when hosting an art program for children who have dealt with trauma and crisis because it ensures that all participants have an equal opportunity to access and benefit from the program, regardless of their background or circumstances.

1. Accessibility: The program should be made accessible to all children who have experienced trauma or crisis, regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or any other characteristic. This can involve finding a location that is easily reachable for all participants, providing transportation assistance if needed, or offering remote access options for those who cannot attend in person.

2. Inclusion: To promote equity, efforts should be made to make all participants feel included and valued. This can be done by creating a welcoming environment that celebrates diversity and different perspectives, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard, and actively involving participants in the decision-making and planning process.

3. Affordability: Some children who have dealt with trauma and crisis may come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Therefore, it is important to make the program affordable or even free, so that no child is excluded due to financial constraints. Seeking sponsorships, grants, or partnerships with community organizations can help cover the costs associated with the program.

4. Cultural Sensitivity: Trauma and crisis can affect individuals differently, and it is important to recognize and respect the cultural differences that exist among participants. By being culturally sensitive and diverse in the program's offerings, organizers can create a safe space where children from all backgrounds can feel comfortable expressing themselves.

5. Resources and Support: Equity also means providing necessary resources and support to all participants to ensure their well-being and success within the program. This can involve having trained facilitators who understand trauma-informed approaches, offering one-on-one support if needed, providing materials and equipment, and connecting participants to additional support services that may be beneficial for their specific needs.

By prioritizing equity in the hosting of an art program for children who have dealt with trauma and crisis, we can foster an inclusive and supportive environment where all participants have the opportunity to heal, express themselves, and thrive.
