Giving Activity

Mission

At Alex Sanger Preparatory, we pride ourselves on delivering a high-caliber educational experience that fosters intellectual growth, creativity, and critical thinking. Our commitment to excellence is evident in the success and achievements of our students and the dedication of our educators. However, to maintain and elevate this standard, it is essential to continuously invest in both student enrichment programs and teacher support initiatives.

The Alex Sanger Preparatory PTA works tirelessly to help bridge funding gaps between what the school district's funding provides and what is needed on our diverse campus for higher academic achievement. We aim to support world-class education that fosters equity through dual language proficiency and student leadership, preparing our students to become globally-minded scholars who are equipped to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.

Needs

Student Enrichment:**

To cultivate a holistic learning environment, we recognize the importance of providing diverse and innovative enrichment opportunities that extend beyond the traditional curriculum. These programs are designed to stimulate students' interests, nurture their talents, and enhance their overall educational experience. The PTA seeks to fund a variety of enrichment activities, including but not limited to:

- STEM Workshops: Hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities that encourage problem-solving and innovation.

- Arts Programs: Music, visual arts, dance and theater classes that foster creativity and self-expression.

- Extracurricular After School Clubs: Diverse clubs and organizations that promote teamwork, leadership, and personal growth such as Art, Robotics, Chess, Kickboxing, Theater, Dance, Destination Imagination, Flamencitos.

- **Field Trips:** Educational excursions that provide real-world learning experiences and broaden students' horizons.

**Teacher Support:**

Our teachers are the backbone of our educational system, and their professional development is crucial to sustaining the high level of education we provide. By supporting our educators, we ensure they have the resources and training necessary to inspire and guide our students effectively. The PTA aims to allocate funds for:

- **Professional Development:** Workshops, conferences, and courses that keep teachers updated on the latest national educational strategies and technologies.

- **Classroom Resources:** Supplementary materials and tools that enhance the learning environment and facilitate innovative teaching methods.

- **Collaborative Opportunities:** Platforms for teachers to share best practices, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and mentor new educators.

By investing in these key areas, the PTA helps maintain the high educational standards at Alex Sanger Preparatory and ensures that every student and teacher has the support they need to thrive. Together, we can continue to build a dynamic and enriching educational community that prepares our students for success in the future.

Equity Statement

Widely recognized within DISD for its commitment to inclusivity and diversity, Alex Sanger Preparatory’s ability to cultivate partnerships within the community has been vital to its continued improvement.
