$5,000 Goal

The AMA Food Pantry is supported solely by donations in the form of monetary gifts and food provisions from the generosity within the community. This includes pantry stable foods as well as perishables. We are 100% volunteer based since it's inception in 1985 and relies on the time and talents of others to make the mission a success. Our beginning is rooted in the story of local church officials witnessing the needs of a growing city and surrounding areas and literally starting in a closet. This mission has grown to a stand alone building while multiplying the number of clients we serve over the past four years.

Giving Activity

Mission

We serve those in need of food, including those out of work, Grandparents caring for grandchildren of unemployed children, soldiers returning from deployment unable to find a job, and others who find themselves in financial difficulty. If you ever find yourself struggling to feed yourself and your family please come by the food pantry when we are open.

Needs

With an ever increasing number of people who are in need of our services, we are continually in danger of not providing necessary items. In recent months, we have had to cut out a few essential items (cooking oil, laundry detergent) simply due to financial restrictions. We would love to add these products back to our clients' monthly distribution and a boost to our financial balance sheet will help us do this. We hope to raise $5,000.

Equity Statement

The AMA serves all that knock on our door in need. The only requirement is that a person/family live within the 3 cities we serve (Allen, Fairview, Lucas). This requirement is generally achieved with a driver's license or an electric bill, etc. If a person is in immediate food scarcity but lives outside of our community we can provide them with a small selection of food but more importantly we offer a list of public services for the area that they live in.
