Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church is one of the Churches of Southern United States Coptic Orthodox Diocese. The term "Coptic" is derived from the Greek "Aigyptos" meaning "Egyptian". When the Arabs arrived in Egypt in the seventh century, they called the Egyptians "qibt". Thus the Arabic word "qibt" came to mean both "Egyptians" and "Christians".
The Coptic Church was established in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by St. Mark the Evangelist in the city of Alexandria around 43 A.D. The church adheres to the Nicene Creed. St. Athanasius (296-373 A.D.), the twentieth Pope of the Coptic Church effectively defended the Doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ's Divinity at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. His affirmation of the doctrine earned him the title; "Father of Orthodoxy" and St. Athanasius "the Apostolic".
The Coptic Orthodox Church worships the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Oneness of Nature. We believe in One God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit � three equal Co-Essential and Co-Indwelling Hypostasis (Persons). The Blessed and Holy Trinity is our One God. We Believe that Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-Begotten of the Father and Who is One with Him in Essence is the only Savior of the world.
Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church in Bedford, Texas-USA, we seek to make Jesus Christ our Lord and His Gospel the center of everything we do, glorifying God in the beauty of our worship and carefully preserving the faith practices of the early Church, which was born at Pentecost. We press toward the goal of becoming more like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, desiring to love and care for one another and for those in the wider community. By the grace of the God our Lord, we pray that our Church would become a life-giving spring of the Orthodox Christian faith for the people in our community and every where in the world.
Due to the increase of the our congregation and number of families, our current worship place (the main Church) where we held the Holy Liturgy three times in every week, we had an urgent need during the COVID times to convert the basket ball court, to be a temporary Church where we do our weekly Sunday Liturgy to give a comfortable space to all our worshipers.
In addition to this task, we start to work with Engineering firms to design a new Church building to comfort everyone need. We was able to almost finish the new Church building drawings with the help and donations of our great congregation, and now looking to start the City of Bedford permission to start construction of our new Church building in the same lot of our current location.
We always pray to Our God Jesus Christ to send the help to build the new Church to glorify His Holy Name.
We have owned the existing Church building, we paying the existing bank mortgage in time since more than past 7 years.
We are in process in designing new Church building in the same lot we own, and we are in need to have a lot of donations to start the new building
