Body & Soul Homeless Program is a beacon of light in the downtown Dallas Arts District, serving the unsheltered population with hot, fresh meals, personal essentials, clothing, and many other resources to assist those who want to get off the streets and live a productive life through our Journey Partners program. Our unsheltered guests arrive knowing they are in a safe, positive space, as we have built a reputation of consistently providing the kind of physical and spiritual nourishment they need to inspire change in their lives.
Body & Soul Homeless Program has been operating every weekend for more than 27 years out of the basement of historic St. Paul United Methodist Church at 1816 Routh Street, and has continued an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of our unsheltered guests.
Body & Soul Homeless Program is fully funded through private donors and is staffed solely by volunteers from around the community, with the exception of a hired Security/Peace Officer.
Pre-COVID, Body & Soul fed breakfast to 100+ unsheltered guests every Saturday, and fed 80+ guests for Sunday lunch/dinner. During the COVID pandemic, Body & Soul managed to stay open and continue to serve those most in-need with to-go meals and essential gift bags. The support and sponsorships of our private donors witness, first-hand, the difference Body & Soul makes in the Dallas community.
Body & Soul 's volunteers and donors have witnessed, first-hand, an obvious increase in the unsheltered population across the Dallas community in the past 5 years, so our needs to increase donorship contributions have increased in parallel. We would gratefully accepts donations of all kinds, whether monetary or another form(s) of donated physical goods, and we would consider any amount of your volunteered time and help as a blessing.
