The Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers, and students who are "All-In" to support arts in education. The Booker T. PTSA understands the importance the arts brings to our cities, communities, and the world beyond. Artistically focused students are creative, disciplined, collaborative thinkers and doers who can provide real and lasting impact whether they eventually study or practice their art full time. 100% of the funds raised through North Texas Giving Day is ear-marked specifically to support the Booker T. PTSA Summer Scholarship programs. Last year, the PTSA was able to support 58 scholar-artists in attending summer artistic and academic enrichment programs. We want to double that impact! In addition to summer scholarships, the Booker T. Washington HSPVA PTSA provides a wide variety of support and programs to students, faculty, families and the Booker T. community. We host programs for parents, provide support to faculty, fund platforms like Remind and Turn It In. The Booker T. Washington HSPVA PTSA also produces a series of four All-School Productions, deliberately connecting our scholar artists with professional mentors and allowing students to move one step closer to fully realizing their creative visions.
