Born 2 Be Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc

Born 2 Be is a therapeutic riding and carriage driving program dedicated to providing the opportunity for individuals to become all they were Born 2 Be through a partnership with the horse. Born 2 Be is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Int'l) Premier Accredited Center and all our instructors are PATH certified in riding or carriage driving. The horse provides a 3-dimensional movement that mimics the human walking gait - movement that is difficult to duplicate in a clinical setting. Therapeutic riding improves balance, posture, muscle tone, motor skills, memory utilization, sequencing abilities, social interaction, and self-esteem, among others. Born 2 Be also offers therapeutic carriage driving. Therapeutic driving is unique in that it offers people who cannot ride, or choose not to ride, the opportunity to participate in an equine activity. Driving provides all the benefits of riding but also utilizes to a greater degree hand/eye coordination and spatial awareness.
By design, Born 2 Be TEC is a small, family oriented center. We serve individuals with physical, educational, intellectual and emotional disabilities. Each lesson is a team effort of people and horses working together to accomplish a common goal. Our participants range in age from four years to senior adults.
We are volunteer based relying on amazing people who generously give of their time to provide a hopeful, helpful and healthy environment to ultimately see disabilities turn into possibilities every day. Our goal is also to ensure that our volunteers find their time valued, appreciated, rewarding and enjoyable. We could not achieve our mission without their generosity and kind hearts.

Our Needs

Horse sponsorships, sand for indoor and outdoor arenas, funds for hay, therapy horses, therapeutic driving horse, tack and adaptive equipment, manure spreader, tractor, rider scholarships, truck & horse trailer.
