CASA of North Texas was chartered in 1999. We’ve had the privilege of advocating for Cooke County children and families for 25 years.  We have been  able to honor our pledge that 100% of the children in our county needing advocacy, would be represented. CASA has always been a child centered agency.  We serve infants up to 18yo, legally removed from abusive or neglectful situations and placed in foster care. The abuse of these children are the cases reported and the children are removed.

In 2022, we began a pilot program within TX CASA, advocating for kids of struggling families involved with the courts system, prior removal. The abuse in these cases is reported but a removal is not deemed necessary at the time.

In 2023, CASA of North Texas realized there was a key population severely underserved in Cooke County. There are other youth in our area that need guidance with security, reassurance, and safety. This includes the children/ cases that have possibly not yet been reported.

In keeping children as our total focus, we decided to adapt, and adopt prevention education into our current wheelhouse.  COPE (Community Outreach & Prevention Education) at CASA of North Texas is proposing community collaborations with each local school district in our county. Our joint venture prepares and equips all involved with fact-based strategies to distinguish, prevent, and respond appropriately to various abuses (physical, emotional, and digital abuses, bullying, and cyberbullying).

By fostering a culture that prioritizes the wellbeing of young people, we can collectively build a safer future and protect them while encouraging the mindset and goals of building upcoming leaders in our communities.

Our Needs

We realize that everyone has many responsibilities and financial obligations that demand their attention.
We appreciate your endless vigilance in listening for the small faint cries of a child in need. We also want to thank you for supporting CASA of North Texas and our mission. Without the backing of local entities and individuals, like yourself, we would not be able to continue to provide advocacy for the children in need. We appreciate you and all you do for our area communities.

Giving Activity

Mission

CASA of North Texas provides Volunteer Advocates to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in protective foster care until each has a safe, loving and permanent home.

Needs

Our COPE staff is currently three well-trained, qualified facilitators of four different evidence-based curriculums that grows with the students each year. COPE is primarily funded through small grants and donations. We are looking for any support that will help cover the costs of both, activities and payroll.

Equity Statement

Our intentions are to advocate safety while maintaining and achieving social and emotional health for all children.

Each COPE curriculum is designed to support skills and knowledge for making healthy choices, managing feelings, and solving problems peacefully. CASA offers security in a learning environment that is understanding and reassuring, providing proactive options and activities to bolster family engagement.
