Call A Ride of Southlake has been providing vital, free transportation since 1999. It is important that our senior citizens and our disabled adult citizens be able to keep essential medical appointments to maintain their good health. Social transportation is also provided through CARS.  The majority of our riders really enjoy going to the Southlake Senior Activity Center on Mondays. They truly appreciate the time to socialize with their peers, learn new things, share lunch and fellowship.

It is very important for our riders to remain connected and engaged in the community.  Mobility is one of the key issues which affects our senior citizens and adults with disabilities.  Most of us remember how it felt during the pandemic, feeling isolated and lonely for connection with others. Now imagine feeling like that every day because you can no longer drive yourself!  A lack of transportation can have very negative effect on individual's physical health and emotional well-being.  CARS needs both monetary donations and volunteers to provide vital transportation for our clients. We would also be interested in speaking with individuals who may be interested as serving as board members.

Mission

CARS (Call a Ride of Southlake) seeks to encourage senior citizens to be more independent and active in the various recreational and social functions offered in Southlake and nearby areas by providing safe transportation for Southlake seniors and (adult disabled) individuals who live in Southlake.

Needs

CARS is currently seeking additional volunteer drivers and is very interested in partering with a corporation or an entity willing to partner for a matching-funds effort.

Equity Statement

CARS is committed to providing free, non-emergency transportation for seniors and adults with disabilities allowing them to grow more independent and active in the various recreational and social functions available in the Southlake community.
