Camp Fire is a national inclusive youth development organization. We connect young people to themselves, others, and nature. Camp Fire Tesuya has been an innovative leader in youth development in Johnson County since 1937.
Our Promise
Young people want to shape the world.
Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
In Camp Fire, it begins now.
Camp Fire Heart of Texas provides the opportunity for children to shape the world, to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
We have a rich legacy! You might remember us as Camp Fire Girls or Camp Fire USA, which were key parts of our organizational journey. What's kept us thriving? Our commitment to diversity and inclusion from the very beginning; incorporating youth voice into all we do; our intentional effort to reflect, evolve, and use cutting-edge research to best meet the needs of today's families; and remarkable people like you!
We have been helping the kids of Johnson County, Texas find their sparks since 1937. Our club program provides kids a safe space to find their passion in life, learn, and grow. Kids Pre-K through 12th grade become members of groups within our council. Every year we attend weekend camp outs and Camp Tesuya, as well as community outreach projects, and so much more.
Camp Fire strives to continuously provide diverse, inclusive, and equitable environments throughout our organizations and programs. We recognize that both access to and success in our programs requires intentional work, to cultivate respect, eliminate systemic barriers, and address injustice head-on. We at Camp Fire believe that words must be followed by progress, action, and accountability. We recognize that our efforts will be ongoing and evolving as we continue to grow, learn, collaborate, and press for an equitable future.
Camp Fire is prioritizing the advancement of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. We are currently working on specific goals and benchmarks to move this work forward and hold ourselves accountable to. We look forward to sharing them with you as they are created.
