Cane Rosso Rescue was founded as a foster organization and quickly realized that the number of dogs needing homes was way more than our foster community could ever manager. We founded a rescue center in 2015 to act as a halfway point for those dogs we could not find immediate fosters for and we have been full ever since (sometimes more than full!) Our organization rescues dogs at risk of euthanasia from high kill shelters, dogs who have been abandoned on the streets and those who can no longer stay at their homes. We primarily focus on sporting breeds and sporting breed mixes, although our "no pup left behind" approach does mean the odd non sporting breed sneaks in - and we are just fine with that. Our rescue center provides a warm, safe, loving environment for the pups, and our foster community members are everyday heroes! All our pups receive vet care including spay or neuter, vaccinations, deworming, flea medications, heartworm treatment and other medical care as needed. We do not shy away from "difficult" cases, such as dogs with major medical conditions, or severe injuries and most recently have counted dogs with blindness, cancer, orthopedic needs and, would you believe, even gunshot wounds, among our rescue family.
Your donation goes directly towards helping our dogs get the best start they can to live a new life. Our intake is dependent on our funds, so the more we can raise, the more dogs we can rescue, and for that we need you!
The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at high kill shelters, or left to fend for themselves on the streets. We are looking for fosters, adopters, and volunteers. Cane Rosso Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Founded 2014 by Jay Jerrier, owner of Dallas pizza restaurants, Cane Rosso & Zoli's NY Pizza Tavern. CRR was launched to help save the life of Walter, a Vizsla mix at a local shelter. Cane Rosso Rescue has helped find homes for over 1400 dogs, and counting.
As well as raising funds, we are always looking for supplies such as dog food, toys, blankets, and beds.
Additionally, we would love to have you visit us to volunteer some time, whether it be walking our center dogs or helping clean and organize the center, any time you have is so appreciated.
At Cane Rosso Rescue we do not discriminate on any basis. Our mission is to find the best home for the individual dog and we treat all applications on an equal basis.
