Companion Pet Rescue CPR, Inc./NORTH TEXAS BARN CATS is an all-volunteer group that is devoted to saving the lives of the "forgotten" cats in our society. Barn cats/working cats play a crucial role in natural pest control, managing populations of rodents, snakes and other small pests.  By welcoming these un-adoptable felines onto your property, residence or business, you are not only giving them a vital sanctuary but also embracing an eco-friendly solution to common rural and farmstead nuisances.

We incorporated our organization in 1997 and received 501C3 classification from the IRS in February 1998.

Our Needs

We need individuals that can temporarily hold cats in their home/garage/barn pending placement. We are always looking for more barns and other placements for these cats.

Mission

Companion Pet Rescue Inc/NORTH TEXAS BARN CATS saves cats by rescuing “ non-adoptable" cats from municipal animal shelters and individuals. These cats "work" for its upkeep by hunting vermin, such as rodents, and snakes. They are commonly employed where pest control is needed: in barns, farms, factories, warehouses, stores, churchyards, and private property. A benefit of using a working cat is that they alleviate the need for harmful pesticides.

We are an all-volunteer group that is devoted to saving the lives of the "forgotten" cats in our society. We work to find properties where the cats can live out their lives in as safe an environment as possible. Prior to placement, each cat is neutered and vaccinated for rabies and feline distemper.

Needs

Need a location to hold cats for 1 day to 1 month pending placement. Location could be commercial or residential requiring access to 110v and 220v electricity, water, sewer, and has/electric heat and A/C. Need washing machine, dryer, refrigerator hookup, access to bathroom and kitchen facilities preferred.
