The LeadHER campaign is a targeted fundraising campaign designed to support the programming of Connections Multiplied Too, programming that empowers Black women in their leadership journey. This campaign recognizes the unique challenges faced by Black women and aims to provide a supportive and enriching environment to help them excel in leadership roles. Connections Multiplied Too LeadHER through:

  • Honor: Acknowledging and celebrating the achievements and unique challenges of Black women in leadership.

  • Empower: Providing resources, support, and opportunities to enhance their leadership skills and confidence.

  • Rise: Encouraging growth and elevation to higher positions of influence and responsibility.

Why this campaign?

The Non-Profit industry is not a friendly or surviving landscape for Black Women Founders. Black-led nonprofits receive 76 percent less unrestricted grant funding than white-led nonprofits (Source: Bridgespan Group). As a Black woman led nonprofit it is imperative that a diversified funding pool is established and stewarded. The LeadHER campaign will be the implementation of individual giving for Connections Multiplied Too.

Mission

To build an empowered community of leaders of color, equipping them with the professional advancement and healing needed to transform communities and the world.

Needs

Women of color led nonprofit organizations receive the least funding from philanthropic sources. The Echoing Green and Bridgespan research, Racial Equity and Philanthropy: Disparities in Funding for Leaders of Color Leave Impact on the Table, unveils the racial disparity in today’s funding environment and argues that population-level impact cannot happen without funding more leaders of color.

Equity Statement

CMT is committed to elevating the voices of women of color in industries that desperately need their leadership, fearlessness, and creativity. We celebrate diversity and believe in inclusivity by creating an environment of belonging.
