CREW in the Community

CREW in the Community (CIC), strives to improve the lives of women in the Dallas area by creating pathways to success and economic independence through educational & professional opportunities.

CIC was formed in 1986 by a powerful network of real estate women within CREW Dallas. Although CIC is a standalone 501c3 charitable organization, with its own bylaws, financials, and Board of Trustees, it does not exist without the support and engagement of our CREW Dallas members. CIC is a place where our members can volunteer their time, share their expertise and donate their funds to women entering the industry.

CIC accomplishes its vision through a variety of events, programs and philanthropic endeavors. Our CREW Careers and UCREW programs serve high-school, undergrad students and graduate students. We want to see our students get excited about the industry, join it being fully-prepared for their first real estate role, become members of CREW, and then start reaching back to help the next generation as they continue their path into industry leadership.

Fundraising is at the core of what we do as an organization. We have raised over $3.6 MILLION DOLLARS to support our beneficiaries and to seed/fund our outreach programs such as CREW Careers. Think of this – there is someone sitting in a Dallas high school classroom right now that may have participated in our Careers program, is incredibly motivated, but doesn't have the financial support to take the next step. Our aggregate dollars would impact this individual and others forever.

In 2022, the CIC Board of Trustees voted to create the CREW in the Community Education Fund to provide educational assistance to local DFW women aspiring to enter or progress in the commercial real estate industry that do not have the means otherwise. The Board believes this giving most directly aligns with our mission as it is an opportunity to attract more diverse candidates into our industry. 2024 will be our first year to award scholarships to deserving students. We're extremely grateful to all those who have given thus far and helped us achieve such a significant milestone!
