The Dallas Geological Society (DGS) has a proud tradition of assisting college-level students originally from or living in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area through the DGS Scholarship Fund. As part of our outreach initiative towards our student members, we strive to assist those working towards geological degrees and who impact our expanding science community. Recipients are chosen through a competitive selection process and committee review that evaluates factors such as academic achievement, school activities, extracurricular involvement, and overall need. Our goal is to increase the amount and size of scholarships that are awarded to students attending local universities or are from the North Texas region.
Currently, there are not enough funds to distribute to the growing number of exceptional earth science students that need our support. We have more fine candidates than we do funds, and tuition is ever increasing! In response to rising tuition costs & special funding needs, we are asking for your donation. Every dollar raised will directly impact future earth scientists of North Texas and your contributions will make their career ambitions become a reality.
The Dallas Geological Society (DGS) is a nonprofit established in 1919 that promotes the education pursuit in earth science, creates a platform to share ideas, and facilitates camaraderie within the North Texas scientific community.
All funds will go directly to the Dallas Geological Society Scholarship Fund which directly supports student needs.
