Ella's Place Youth and Family Services was founded in 2009 by Gloria Fobbs in response to a need to support children and families in crisis.  The organization has provided services such as referrals for food and shelter, feeding the homeless, homework help, trauma training, parenting training, mentorship, counseling referrals and financial assistance to families in North Texas.  Since its inception, Ella's Place has grown into a thriving nonprofit and has served multiple individuals and families each year.

These are our two major programs:

Baby and Me

Baby and Me is a program designed to help pregnant and parenting teens. The program is focused on prenatal care, parenting education and parenting mentorship. The importance of prenatal care and nutrition throughout their pregnancy journey is emphasized.  Parents are required to participate in a parenting education program that focuses on basic childcare. Participants who complete the parenting education program, at a 75% completion rate are celebrated in a joint baby shower. Teen parents are also paired with parent mentors as needed, to help them navigate their parenting journey and are monitored up to eighteen months post-delivery.

 A Snack a Day:

Many individuals deal with food insecurity.  A Snack a Day is a program that is designed to help mitigate these issues. Quarterly food drives and food distribution days are held to provide backpacks of food to children and youth, families and the homeless. Targeted areas include zip codes with high poverty rates and homeless encampments.  We partner with local food banks, faith-based organizations and other charities and volunteers.
