Join Us in Making a Difference for the Endometriosis Community

Endo Forward Foundation is passionately committed to empowering and supporting individuals affected by endometriosis in the DFW Metroplex and Austin Metro. We’re here to create a community where those battling this condition feel seen, supported, and equipped with the resources they need to thrive.

Key Initiatives

One of our core initiatives is offering free Patient Advocacy services to individuals dealing with endometriosis in the DFW Metroplex and Austin Metro. We help connect people with medical professionals, guide them through billing-related questions, and provide comprehensive information on endometriosis. Our goal is to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their healthcare, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Our post-operative Care Baskets—affectionately called "hugs in a basket"—are another crucial part of our mission. These baskets are designed to provide essential items and a sense of comfort to those recovering from surgery. We want every individual to feel supported during their recovery, knowing that they are not alone in their journey.

We also recently launched the HealForward Fund Scholarship to help individuals access essential services like pelvic floor therapy and mental health counseling. Given the limited number of excision specialists in the U.S.—only about 100 to serve approximately 6.5 million people—this scholarship aims to break down barriers to care and ensure equitable access to quality treatment.

Expanding Our Reach

Once we began our initiative, it quickly became apparent that the scope of support needed to be broader to effectively help those affected. Originally, our efforts were focused on the DFW Metroplex, but as we gained experience and insight into the challenges faced by Endo Warriors, it became clear that extending our reach was essential. In response to this need, at the end of 2023, we expanded our program to include Travis, Williamson, and Hays Counties. This expansion allows us to offer more comprehensive support to people throughout their college careers, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed both academically and personally. By broadening our support, we aim to positively impact a larger number of people and foster a more supportive community for their growth and development. Looking ahead, we hope to expand our reach to more underserved areas in 2025 and 2026, ensuring that even more individuals have access to the care and resources they need.

Advocacy, Education, and Reducing Diagnosis Time

Education is vital to improving care for endometriosis. Our focus through the end of 2024 is creating more educational material for the community, endo warriors, and healthcare providers. Most people visit general OB-GYNs as a first step to diagnosis, yet these providers receive only one hour of training on endometriosis. This lack of education contributes to the staggering 7-10 year average diagnosis period for endometriosis, a condition that is as painful as a heart attack. We are determined to change this by providing accurate, comprehensive information that can improve the diagnosis process and reduce the time it takes for individuals to receive the care they need.

Get Involved: Your Story, Your Support

This North Texas Giving Day, we invite you to share your endometriosis story and contribute to our mission. Your voice can help raise awareness, and your donation can make a tangible difference in the lives of those navigating this challenging condition. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal of creating a world where endometriosis is understood, and those affected receive the care they deserve.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to provide comprehensive services and education to individuals affected by endometriosis. We strive to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being by increasing awareness, providing resources and support, and advocating for improved access to care. We are committed to bridging gaps in knowledge and healthcare by developing educational materials for both patients and providers, creating a supportive community through in-person and virtual events, and addressing critical needs through initiatives like care baskets and scholarships. Our goal is to reduce diagnosis times, enhance the quality of care, and foster a more informed and empathetic healthcare environment for those impacted by endometriosis.

Needs

Fundraising Goals:

We are currently fundraising to cover our operational needs for the remainder of 2024 and first three quarters of 2025. Your generous contributions will help us continue our vital work in supporting individuals affected by endometriosis, enhancing educational resources, and fostering community connections.

Care Basket Funding:

-$45 per Care Basket: Each basket supports post-endometriosis surgery recovery by providing essential items for comfort and well-being. Your contribution ensures that individuals receive thoughtful care packages to aid their recovery.

-$6.99 Postage for Shipping: This average cost of shipping allows us to extend our reach beyond the immediate area, ensuring that care baskets benefit recipients throughout the entire metroplex.

HealForward Fund Scholarship:

-Mental Health Counseling: Approximately $1,500 covers 10 visits, offering crucial support for managing the emotional challenges of endometriosis.

-Pelvic Floor Therapy: Approximately $2,000 covers 10 visits, addressing physical symptoms and enhancing overall care access.

Community Building Events and Mental Health Support:

-Our in-person events, such as yoga sessions, painting classes, and friends' nights, are designed to address the emotional toll of endometriosis and foster a sense of belonging. These gatherings create safe spaces for sharing experiences and finding support within the community. With 68% of endometriosis sufferers struggling with mental health issues, your support helps provide opportunities for social interaction and self-expression, promoting a holistic approach to well-being that addresses both physical and emotional needs.

Educational Material for Physicians and Providers:

-We are developing resources to improve the quick identification, diagnosis, and treatment of endometriosis. Many healthcare professionals receive minimal training on endometriosis, leading to significant delays in diagnosis—patients often wait 7-10 years for accurate care. Your support helps create educational materials that equip providers with the knowledge to promptly recognize and effectively treat endometriosis, ultimately enhancing patients' quality of life.

Equity Statement

At Endo Forward Foundation, we are dedicated to fostering equity and inclusivity. We believe in equal access to support, resources, and opportunities for all individuals affected by endometriosis. We celebrate diversity and strive to create a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.

We actively work to address disparities and eliminate systemic inequities, amplifying underrepresented voices and continuously improving our practices. Discrimination and bias have no place here. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals can freely express themselves and find solidarity.

Together, we are building a more equitable future for all.
