The Fallen Outdoors - Team Texas

A nonprofit organization

The Fallen Outdoors began in 2009 at a remote outpost in Afghanistan with three soldiers; SSG John Bates, SPC Eric Finniginamm and SPC Eric Bakken. Year after year The Fallen Outdoors (TFO) grew and expanded, they put in every extra second they had while on active duty. Today the TFO serves thousands of veterans every year across this great nation. What started off as a simple idea to help veterans get outdoors has transformed into a lifestyle that the TFO nation lives and breathes every day.

Regardless of whether you served 4 years or 20, you have a place here with us. If you’re looking for hunting, fishing or connecting with other veterans in the outdoors, this is where to start.

Creating a network and an outlet for service men and women helps us combat the 22 a day suicide rate among Veterans. Your donation directly benefits the life of our brothers and sisters in arms.

Mission

The Fallen Outdoors mission is to organize outdoor adventures for veterans past and present, from every generation and from all branches of the military. Our aim is to connect Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines with like-minded individuals along with teaching them a skill and passion they can continue for a lifetime

Needs

The Fallen Outdoors-Team Texas is in need of funding to help our mission grow so that we can give our nations heroes the best outdoor experiences possible. Monetary donations are used for things such as:

• Wheelchair accessible blinds for mobility challenged veterans such as wounded warrior Purple Heart recipients

• Transportation of veterans to & from outdoor events

• Food & lodging for veterans

• Video & photo equipment to document the events so the veterans can share it with friends & loved ones

• Access to facilities and property

• Equipment (cold weather clothing, rain gear and other items) that some veterans cannot afford

The Fallen Outdoors also accepts donated raffle items to help raise funds for events. This can be things such as but not limited to:

• Compound bows

• Optics (binoculars & scopes)

• hunting/fishing gear

• Camping equipment

• Canoe / Kayak equipment

The Fallen Outdoors is also in need of volunteers such as motivational speakers to speak at events and staffers to help with logistical support and event setup, staffing and tear down.
