Farmers Assisting Returning Military

A nonprofit organization

Farmers Assisting Returning Military, (F.A.R.M.) aims to reestablish the meaning in the lives of veterans through agricultural therapeutic rehabilitation and training. Our program allows veterans reintegrating into society to once again become teachers, providers, nurturers and leaders while empowering them to the lead the change in America's distressed food system.

F.A.R.M. assists veterans through agricultural skills training and providing them the resources they need to be successful while also focusing on the healing benefits of stewarding the land, what we call "dirt therapy."

Through training,  peer to peer support and a holistic approach to healing with yoga, meditation, equine therapy and animal husbandry, F.A.R.M. has been able to serve and support veterans across the nation.

Mission

F.A.R.M. serves our nation's Veterans by helping them find peace, purpose and opportunity through agricultural therapeutic rehabilitation.

Needs

At Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.), we are excited to share the success of our restarted internship program! Our veterans have thrived, and we've had an overwhelming response from those eager to begin careers in agriculture. However, to ensure personalized 1-to-1 support, we had to limit the number of veterans we could serve due to lack of housing for veterans living outside of DFW and programmatic funds to bring in more veterans trainers.

Here’s where you can help!

We’re seeking funds to remodel our tiny homes to house veterans while they go through our internship program. By providing safe, comfortable housing, we can serve more veterans and give them the meaningful opportunity they deserve to grow in the world of agriculture.

This year, your donation will also help us launch Phase 2: Train the Trainer, allowing veterans who’ve completed the internship to return as leaders, trainers, and peer mentors. This will expand our capacity and allow us to reach more veterans interested in agriculture.

Your donation will directly support:

-Remodeling our tiny homes to house veterans during their

internships.

-The execution of Train the Trainer, turning veterans into mentors and

leaders.

-Programmatic funds for veteran educators to provide training and

support.

Donate now to help us create a brighter future for veterans through agriculture!
